What To Expect

This tour encompasses many regions of Australia including Adelaide and Kangaroo Island in the south of Australia. Alice Springs and Uluru (Ayers Rock)(opens in a new tab) in the center and further north to Darwin and the remote regions of Kakadu and Arnhem Land. After spending much time in the outback of Australia the tour concludes over in Port Douglas where our clients enjoyed some time on the Great Barrier Reef.

The tour does not have any prices listed as our Australia Travel Planners can extend, chop and change things and tailor-make it to your own wants, needs, and budget. The layout is just a guide on what you can do with so many days in Australia and what regions you can see.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1 - Departure Day

Depart your home city in Canada or the USA to either Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston or Toronto for your connecting flight to Australia.

Day 2 - Travel Day

Travel day due to time zones.

Day 3 - Arrive Adelaide, Australia

After clearing customs and immigration formalities, you will be met by a driver who will be holding a sign with your name at the arrival hall and they will transfer you to your accommodation.

You will be receiving a call from your Australia Travel Planner shortly welcoming you to their home country!

Day 4 - Adelaide To Kangaroo Island

You will be collected from your hotel and transferred to Adelaide airport for your onward flight to Kangaroo Island(opens in a new tab).

Enjoy a homestay with a local family this evening.

Day 5 - Kangaroo Island

This morning, you will be collected from your hotel for your small group day tour of this amazing island. It is home to a wide array of wildlife species such as kangaroos, wallabies, possums, goannas, echidnas, koalas, platypus and many birds including rare Cape Barren Geese.

Day 6 - Kangaroo Island To Adelaide

This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Adelaide. Upon arrival into Adelaide you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your leisure.

Day 7 - Adelaide to Alice Spring

This morning be transferred to Adelaide Airport for your flight to Alice Springs.

Afternoon half day tour of Alice Springs is included today as long as your flight arrives by 1.00pm.

Day 8 - Alice Spring to Uluru/Ayers Rock

This morning be collected by coach and transferred over to Uluru/Ayers Rock, an approx. 5 hour drive.

Enjoy looking out the window at the red dirt and remoteness of the central Australia outback.

Day 9 - Uluru/Ayers Rock

You will be collected from your hotel to commence your Camel to Sunrise Tour. Breathe in the cool morning air as you ride your friendly camel for one hour through the desert landscape as dawn breaks over Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Watch the desert come to life and learn about the flora and fauna along the trail from your knowledgeable cameleer.

Later in the day join your tour out to Kata Tjuta/The Olgas and enjoy sunset with a glass of wine.

Day 10 - Ayers Rock To Darwin

Today you will be transferred to the Ayers Rock Airport for your flight to Darwin Australia.

Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your accommodation.

Darwin and The Northern Territory Region of Australia is best visited between May-Sept due to the wet season.

Day 11 - Darwin To Litchfield National Park

This morning you will be collected from your hotel to commence your Full Day Litchfield National Park Tour- you will return to Darwin later today and overnight in your hotel.

Day 12 - Darwin To Kakadu National Park

Depart Darwin for Kakadu National Park on your full day tour. Overnight at a hotel in Kakadu National Park.

Day 13 - Kakadu To Cobourg, Northern Territory

After breakfast, travel from Jabiru to the northern region of Kakadu National Park to Cahill’s Crossing on the East Alligator River and enter Arnhem Land. Overnight at a camp in Arnhem Land.

Day 14 - Cobourg, Northern Territory

This morning is spent exploring the Cobourg Marine Park by boat en route to the Victoria Settlement ruins. The Victoria Settlement was established between 1838 – 1849 by the British as one of the first settlements in northern Australia. The stone ruins are still standing on the shoreline of Port Essington and serve as a reminder of the harshness early settlers faced. Cobourg is also abundant in some amazing marine life such as dugong, dolphins, six species of marine turtles, crocodiles, stingrays and plenty of fish . All without the crowds.

Day 15 - Cobourg

Today, explore the eastern side of the park, this time by 4WD. Cobourg is home to the first RAMSAR wetlands (wetlands of international importance) in Australia with freshwater paperbark swamps and billabongs 100 m from the coastline. Continue on via the northern beaches, commonly used as turtle nesting areas and covered in a wide range of shells.

Day 16 - Cobourg To Darwin

This morning, depart Cobourg early. Sit back and enjoy the bush scenery of Arnhem Land as we make our way back to Kakadu National Park. After numerous stops along the way we will enjoy lunch next to the banks of the mighty East Alligator River.

After lunch, visit Ubirr Rock where we spend time viewing some of Kakadu’s best Aboriginal rock art. A short walk to the top of Ubirr offers spectacular views of the surrounding wetlands and stone country. Depart Ubirr to Darwin via the Arnhem Land highway.

Day 17 - Darwin To Cairns To Port Douglas

Today you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the airport for your flight to Cairns. Upon arrival, you will be transferred approx 60 minutes north to Port Douglas.

Day 18 - Port Douglas

Today enjoy your full day small group tour to Mosman Gorge and the Daintree Rainforest.

Day 19 - Port Douglas

Today you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the Port Douglas Marina to join your full day tour out to the Great Barrier Reef.

We will discuss options with you for which Barrier Reef operator will be the best depending on whether you wish to dive, snorkel or laze around on the boat.

Day 20 - Port Douglas To Cairns

This morning you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to Cairns.

Day 21 - Cairns

You will be collected from your hotel to commence your full day food based tour to the Atherton Tablelands. Visit small producers and private properties where you are able to interact with local people. The day is all about you and fabulous food.

Day 22 - Cairns - North America

Today you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the airport to start your journey home to Canada or the USA.
